No intro needed for the people with familiar background into this art and hobby of mine. I been writing lyrics since 'ever. bit of poetry too, like to stay in general as they say in the lingo: 'On that conscious tip'. Since I've been learning ever more that the true meaning of 'consciousness' and in hip hop terms 'conscious' are worlds apart, I guess that's why my rhyme and poetry never took off into the industry or as a serious endeavour.
Nevertheless, during many years in London, I have engaged in the 'scene', produced some off shoot tracks out of sheer enthusiasm and suchlike, socially influenced agenda, even some off key performances in front of likeminded crowds and occasional drunken 'spitta' sessions to impress the masses at house parties. never gave up writing, never will. In a sense this is one life skill I can say has been a formative part of 'me'. As a result in many circles I have been come to be known by the monikers: 'Quizzy', 'Tanman', 'T-Cozy', won't bother to mention the rest, I've outgrown them. Monikers are not necessary for lyricists who only want their material to be heard or read, not their egos or grosser personalities.
I guess I have always been involved behind scenes with some long term contacts, producers, rappers, etc. doing some writing, consulting, general feedback, refining, and recently decided to create this blog as a platform for accessing some of the material and pick and mix of the styles, as well as poetic outburst. You know how it is with rappers and rapper wannabes: sometimes they just gotta get it off the chest!
